Teamsters Local 313 is pleased to announce that a memorial scholarship fund and golf tournament has been established in the name of John Becklund. John became a Teamster Local 313 member in 1972 and remained an active member until his retirement in 2007 working in the solid waste division for the City of Tacoma. John held the position of shop steward for many years and was elected trustee of Local 313 Executive Board in 2003 and 2006.

TEAMSTER BROTHER TAKES GOLD Congratulations to brother Alan Bown of Woodworth and Co. for taking the world title in arm wrestling. Alan walked away from the sport in 2002 with both the left-handed and right-handed arm wrestling titles. Alan returned in December to take gold at the World Arm Wrestling Federation's World Arm Wrestling Championships Master Men's left-handed 90-kilogram division in Kelowna B.C. We wish Alan the best of luck when he competes this September in Venice, Italy
